THE ROASTING TRACK
Introducing the Roasting Track, curated by Emeran Langmaid of Drink Rare Breed! This Workshop Track is part of our Coffee Educational Programming, where you will get to deep dive into the craft, science, and responsibility behind every roast.
Across two days of the festival, you’ll explore air quality and roaster health, sample roasting for clarity, East African coffee development, applied airflow in drum roasting, packaging for quality + design, drum vs. air systems, and even the misunderstood power of coffea canephora (Robusta). Expect technical insight, guided tastings, origin connection, and real-world production conversations designed for roasters, baristas, and coffee buyers alike.
This track connects production, sustainability, sensory evaluation, and innovation- from green sourcing to the final cup.
Roasting Workshops will be hosted by: @drinkrarebreed @ghowellcoffee @swingscoffee @aerocoffeeroasters @cafe_reynard @jrenecoffee @enjoycoffeeroasters @newharvestcoffee @jnpcoffee

Industry leaders will tackle the real issues: navigating rising costs and market volatility, breaking into leadership roles, the highs (and headaches) of coffee competitions, and the cutting edge of innovation, science, and entrepreneurship. From green buying and tariffs to world-stage competitions and groundbreaking research, these panels pull back the curtain on what it really takes to stay competitive, and inspired, in today’s coffee landscape.
Whether you’re a barista, roaster, café owner, competitor, or future industry leader, expect insight, strategy, and big-picture thinking from the people shaping specialty coffee right now.

Explore fresh + aged oolongs, rare and wild teas from around the globe, loose leaf brewing made simple, and creative café-style tea drinks. Go deeper with workshops on building thoughtful tea programs and even unexpected whiskey pairings.
Whether you’re a total beginner, café owner, or lifelong tea lover, this track is designed to expand your palate, spark creativity, and transform the way you brew and experience tea.
SENSORY TRACK As part of the Coffee Educational Programming at the Northeast Coffee Festival, we’re excited to introduce the Sensory Track led by Anne Mercer from Victus Coffee.
This hands-on series is designed to deepen the way you taste, evaluate, and experience coffee. Across two days, you’ll learn to brew better at home, compare specialty and non-specialty coffees side by side, identify common defects, explore acidity and body in depth, test your palate with blind sensory challenges, and even trace what’s happening inside your espresso machine.
From café owners and baristas to passionate home brewers, each workshop builds practical sensory skills you can apply immediately- helping you taste with more clarity, confidence, and intention.
Eastern Propane & Oil Live Music Series is BACK! Thanks to our Platinum Partner, Eastern Propane & Oil, we have partnered once again with the NH Music Collective to curate an amazing lineup of musicians that’ll be performing throughout the duration of the weekend.
